Safety Committee
We are assembling a team of Safety-Minded employees to help us bring our Safety culture to the next level!
Why a Safety Committee?
I am a firm believer that the most important resources we have for increasing the safety of our work environment are all of you: the ones who show up every day and perform the tasks that keep our business running. You are the ones who work with the issues that exist in our work environments. We need your unique perspectives, voice and assistance to make this a safer place for everyone to work. I want this to be an effective, enlightening, and fun experience for everyone involved!
Who Can Join the Committee?
This committee is for anyone who is interested in joining! I want representatives from every department and every shift! We will have a cap on how many will serve at one-time (to be determined). Members will serve on the Committee for a period of 6 months. At the end of the 6-month period, it is anticipated that the committee will be dissolved and new members will be brought in. Fresh eyes, fresh perspectives, fresh ideas are a must in order for us to be successful!
Not sure if this is for you? Here’s a list of what you can expect as a member of the Safety Committee:
·
Perform a Safety Blitz as a team. We will visit
each department and look for and document every safety issue we can find. We
will then come together as a team to discuss our findings and propose possible
solutions to each hazard. We will then work with Management to make-a-plan to
correct the issues we find.
·
Obtain First-Aid/CPR/AED Training.
·
Serve as a First-Responder for
Incidents/Emergencies.
·
Receive in-depth safety trainings to improve
your understanding of basic safety principles, OSHA standards, and general
safety awareness.
·
Assist in Reviewing any Incidents and Providing
Recommendations on how to Prevent Similar Incidents from Happening Again.
·
Be a resource for your fellow coworkers.
·
Safety Committee SWAG.
·
Team-building exercises.
· And more!
Meeting Schedule
To be determined. I anticipate meeting one to two times per
month, depending on needs. Meetings are likely to be held on Thursdays and at a
time that is most convenient for the members of the Committee.
Meetings will be on company time (paid) and will take place in the Event Center.
